Water Soluble Magic

  • Course
  • 46 Lessons

Water-soluble fabric is a magical ingredient, allowing you to create intricate weaves, laces, and grids from scraps of fabric and tangles of threads. You can use it to create edgings, jewellery and sculptural vessels and make stitches float over textural surfaces. Best of all, it all looks so much more intricate and complicated than it really is!

Explore a world of experimental possibility with magical water soluble fabric!

Water Soluble Magic is here!

  • If you love playing and experimenting with textiles this course is perfect for you. We will be creating samples but there will be plenty of suggestions for how you can use them in dressmaking, up-cycling, interiors and art.

  • You can use the chapters as prompts, then go off for hours/days exploring more possibilities. The course kept growing as I filmed it and I don't think you could possibly finish it in a weekend :) it's more like a 6 week course now!

  • It's amazing, once you start playing, how the ideas begin to flow. Once purchased the course can be taken at your own pace and you can spend as long as you want on each section.

  • You can ask questions and share work both within the course and in our private Facebook group. I also run Zoom Open Studio Hour's once a month where we chat about what everyone is up to.

Watch 'over my shoulder' as I create these samples and talk you through my design and thought process.

More reasons to play!

  • You are impatient, love quick results and maybe a little rebellious!

  • You love textiles and want inspiration for new ways of working.

  • You love up-cycling fabrics and exploring new techniques, playing and creating happy accidents.

  • You have a huge fabric/fibre/thread stash and need inspiration!

  • You want to create interesting fabrics to stitch into or use in larger work

  • You are working in another medium and want to incorporate water soluble into your work
